(인간과 AI : 2편) : 전공은 다르지만, 우리는 한 팀 (AI의 전공 / 인간의 전공 / 협업의 기적)

 

수학 잘하는 사람, 물리 잘하는 사람, 그리고 AI 

안녕하세요, World Globe(WGWTG)의 Ian입니다. 우리 주변을 보면 어떤 사람은 수학에 천재적인 재능이 있고, 어떤 사람은 물리를 기가 막히게 잘합니다. 각자 잘하는 분야가 다른 것 입니다. 저는 인간과 AI의 관계도 이와 같다고 생각합니다. 서로 '전공'이 다를 뿐입니다.

1. AI의 전공: 방대한 데이터와 번역 

AI의 전공은 '지식의 집약'과 '언어의 확장'입니다. 33년 전 제가 캐나다에 처음 왔을 때, 가장 큰 벽은 언어였습니다. 내 머릿속의 깊은 생각과 한국인 특유의 정(情)을 영어라는 도구로 완벽히 표현하기란 쉽지 않았죠. 하지만 이제 AI라는 '언어 전공자'가 제 곁에 있습니다. 제가 한국어로 투박하게 던진 진심을, AI는 전 세계가 이해할 수 있는 세련된 영어로 멋지게 번역해 줍니다.

2. 인간의 전공: 삶의 맥락과 판단 

그렇다면 인간인 저의 전공은 무엇일까요? 바로 '삶의 맥락'과 '최종 판단'입니다. AI가 아무리 수학 문제를 잘 풀어도, 그 답이 우리 이웃들에게 어떤 의미가 있는지, 이 글이 읽는 이에게 어떤 위로가 될지는 알지 못합니다. 33년 이민 생활의 풍파를 견디며 쌓인 저의 경험과 통찰력은 그 어떤 데이터로도 대체할 수 없는 저만의 '전공 분야'입니다.

3. 협업이 만드는 기적 

수학자와 물리학자가 만나 우주선을 쏘아 올리듯, 인간의 '경험'과 AI의 '기술'이 만나면 불가능했던 일들이 가능해집니다. 에드몬튼의 작은 방에서 쓴 제 글이 AI라는 날개를 달고 전 세계로 퍼져 나가는 것, 이것이 바로 우리가 지향해야 할 미래의 모습 아닐까요?

The Mathematician, The Physicist, and AI 

Hello, this is Ian from World Globe (WGWTG). In our lives, some people have a genius talent for mathematics, while others are incredibly skilled at physics. Everyone has different strengths. I believe the relationship between humans and AI is the same. We simply have different 'majors.'

1. AI’s Major: Vast Data and Translation 

AI’s major is the 'concentration of knowledge' and the 'expansion of language.' When I first came to Canada 33 years ago, the biggest barrier was language. It wasn't easy to perfectly express my deep thoughts and the unique Korean sentiment of 'Jeong' through the tool of English. But now, I have an 'AI language specialist' by my side. AI takes the sincere thoughts I offer in Korean and transforms them into sophisticated English that the whole world can understand.

2. Human’s Major: Life Context and Judgment 

Then, what is my major as a human? It is 'life context' and 'final judgment.' No matter how well an AI solves a math problem, it doesn't know what that answer means to our neighbors or how this writing might comfort a reader. My experience and insight, built over 33 years of navigating the storms of immigrant life, is a unique 'major' that no data can replace.

3. Miracles Created by Collaboration 

Just as a mathematician and a physicist team up to launch a spacecraft, when human 'experience' meets AI 'technology,' the impossible becomes possible. The fact that a story written in a small room in Edmonton can spread across the globe on the wings of AI—isn't this the future we should aim for?

Closing :
